Default Question for Euro players

I'm starting to get intolerant of America almost never having favor, and I'm highly considering moving to Europe permeneantly (Only one region change left). UW and FoW are the only things that keep me still playing this game anymore. Before I move, I have two questions for you Euros.

1. How populated are your English districts?
2. How friendly are your people?

Thanks for your input, and sorry if this is the wrong forum.

Only when we're not running IGAY.

I've been on both Euro and U.S. servers. On Euro there are almost always plenty of people in the bigger outposts. But if you want to do some less popular missions in the middle of the night (which, thanks to timezones, might be middle of the day for you), prepare to take henchies quite often. During my stay I found U.S. servers to have a lot more players.

As for the friendliness, it's impossible to say really. There are always rotten apples in every basket. Based on my personal experiences, PUGs have been generally more polite and friendly on Euro, but on the other hand I've encountered more sudden ragequitters on Euro too. Also, there seem to be a lot more runners on U.S. servers than Euro.

I still remember when Europe never got favour because all the Euro HoHers moved over to the US servers. I spent many a late night in FoW trying hard to stay alive because we wouldn't hold favour for long.

Last time I checked, ToA was pretty populated. I haven't done FOW/UW in a while, so someone else will have to comment on how easy it is to form a PUG there. The only PvE I do these days is TOPK runs when I'm bored of PvP, and it's usually quite easy to form a PUG there.

I've never been on the US servers, so I can't compare how friendly people are. I must say we do have our share of griefers and leavers but it's not a significant issue. Most players are nice enough.

I'd seriously consider not changing servers considering that it is your last change. There have been a few posts about players needing one last switch to move back to their home servers and not having any moves left. Also America might start to dominate again once Factions is released; you never know.

Never had any problems finding groups for UW/FoW even though i usually play pretty late at night, so you shouldn't have to worry about that.

And I guess the people are pretty much the same anywhere...

the euro districts are alot smaller

maybe 6-7 asaclon districts compared to 16+ on american servers

even tho euro has favor alot not many ppl go to uw/fow compared to US

euro might have 5 districts open compared to US 8-10

there is less PvP elitest assholes in euro tho

LA is still packed with ppl selling shit

They're populated, don't worry about it.

Not as friendly as they were until we started getting favor regularly, but still reasonably friendly if you can stand people going "i give head lololol" and shouting "noob" a lot for no obvious reason.

Most people are on the English districts, from what I hear the friendlyness lies higher on euro server then on American server, however I intend to do a little server hop one day to see how bad (or not bad) it really is on the AM server.

So you can actually make a server change, from US to Uk, and thats different from going from US to international?

Your home districts will be different.
And if you go from us to eu you will be able to enter fow and uw more (at the moment).

Wow can't anyone remember that for the first 7 months of the release, only US ever had favour? Europe's been (luckily) getting her share of favour quite a lot now, though.

Anyway, it's always populated, don't worry. Even at the lowest populated hours, there'll still be thousands on, and enough to fill atleast one or two districts of any outpost. At peak hours you'll probably see 10 or so Droknar's districts and more or less the same for Lion's Arch.

About friendliness, I've spoken to several Americans who made the jump and who were astounded by how friendly the Euro servers were compared to the US server, more mature in their opinion. I cannot, however, comment on that, as I've never been on the US servers.

It's still a decision you have to make, and seeing as it's your last switch, I can't really help you with it. All I can say is, you'll have absolutely no trouble at all finding a party for FoW or UW when you want to go. The place is literally packed every time we have favour.

Still, the choice is yours... good luck! ^^

PS. You can always e-mail A-net support when you want to switch back and they're re-locate you to your home districts (American dis.)

I think Anet has a policy to generally not switch anybody back after they used the five server hops.

The only time I've ever come across rude remarks/associates was when I was hanging around in TOA and America had favour.

Depending on the time of day though, smaller areas can be fairly deserted. Main zones are generally bursting at the seams. Never been on the American side to compare

And never been in a horrible pickup yet either, though admittedly I'm only at Aurora's Glade place or some such.
It's impossible to sell anything though, yet I fear that's just me. Bleh

Remember now the input here is just 1% of the whole europe server. So, the information here may be one sideded or maybe not.

At one point, america always had favour so the euros went to america. Now europe has favour and...

I've seen this before in different games.
Getting a balance between 2 nations, towns, teams, factions or continents = impossible.

I would suggest staying in America, getting a team together and pwn those Euros (including me -_-) so you get the favour instead.

If you moved to our servers you'd have to put up with me, for a start

Aside from that, I'd say it's best to stick with friends. Other than that, it's very hard to find talkative people in gw at the moment, due to the mass farming that is going on in the lead up to factions - ie, before people start bashing, people are all too busy to talk.

My advice, if you want to change now, you should. Things will be completely different when Factions hits the shops in 3 weeks time. I for one, will be travelling to Cantha with my existing 3 characters, (hopefully I'll ascend my 2nd AC W/E by then too and with any luck, get a ways to ascending my N/R as well. for the time being, I'll just have to make do with E/W, W/R and Mo/Me for now.

My only further thing to add, is if you enjoy book trick farming, there seems to be a significant lack of (FoW, anyway,) Warriors who understand the concept, which as a squishie smiter, can be rather irritating
